# Game pitch deck template

A twelve-slide deck that takes a publisher from the hook to the ask, with what you need around it: speaker notes, the questions publishers ask with your answers, and a one-page summary to leave behind. Download it as Markdown files: they open in any editor, and import into Nodary, where the deck becomes slides you present, print to PDF or export to PowerPoint.

Free, no account, no email. Use it, change it, share it.

## Read every page before you download

The deck is the document in the middle: each heading is a slide, with two to four lines on it. The three documents around it hold what you say, what they will ask, and what you leave behind. The examples come from Saltmarrow, the sample game this site uses everywhere.

- Game pitch deck: The deck itself: one heading per slide, from the hook to the ask, ready to present or export.
- Speaker notes: What you say on each slide and for how long, so the deck stays short and the story stays yours.
- Publisher questions: The questions publishers ask, with your answers and their proof prepared before the meeting.
- One-page summary: The page you send ahead or leave behind: the game, the numbers and the ask on one screen.

### Game pitch deck

_How to use this template: each heading below is one slide, after a title slide with the game’s name. Keep two to four lines per slide; what you say goes in the_ [speaker notes](https://nodary.ai/templates/game-pitch-deck#doc-notes)_. In Nodary, present this document as 16:9 slides, print it to PDF or export it to PowerPoint. This template is free to use, change and share. It comes from_ [Nodary](https://nodary.ai)_, where these files import as a map of linked documents._

## How to use it

### Write the hook first

Fill in the hook slide before anything else: the moment that makes someone want to play. If it does not work in one sentence, the rest of the deck will not save it.

### Keep each slide short

Two to four lines per slide, one strong picture where it helps. Everything else goes in the speaker notes, where you can say it.

### Prepare the hard questions

Answer the publisher questions in writing before the meeting, with proof where you have it. The answer you prepared is the one that sounds sure.

### Rehearse, then send the one-pager

Run the deck out loud against the clock, then send the one-page summary and a build link within a day of the meeting.

## Import it into Nodary and present it

Nodary is an AI-native workspace where a team’s documents link instead of piling up. Import the .zip and the deck arrives with its notes, questions and one-pager filed under it. Each heading of the deck becomes a slide: present it full screen as 16:9 slides after a title slide and an agenda, print it to PDF, or export an editable PowerPoint where text, bullets and tables stay text, bullets and tables. Add your key art and a moodboard, and let AI agents connected over MCP check the pitch against the rest of the game’s documents.

1. Open a project’s map and choose Import.
2. Choose the Folder or ZIP tab, then Choose a ZIP, pick the file and import.
3. Open the deck, choose Print or save as PDF, then Slides 16:9 as the paper: present it or print it.
4. Or choose Export as PowerPoint (.pptx) for a file you can edit.

The Free plan holds ten documents per workspace, the project’s own page included: the template’s four leave plenty of room. Diagrams and boards reach PowerPoint as pictures. Nodary also has a one-page Game Pitch Deck template built in, with a moodboard.

## Pitching a game publishers remember

A pitch fails when the publisher cannot repeat the game in one sentence after the meeting, or cannot tell what you are asking for. These habits prevent both.

### Lead with the hook

Start with what the player does and feels, not with the lore or the team. The hook is what the publisher will repeat to their colleagues.

### Show, do not tell

A playable build or a short capture beats any slide. Use the deck to frame what they see, not to replace it.

### Choose comparables with care

Name games the publisher knows, say what you share and what you do differently, and only quote sales figures from a public source you can link.

### Make the ask precise

Say the amount, what it pays for, what the publisher gets and the date of the next step. A vague ask gets a vague answer.

### Fewer slides, more practice

Twelve slides rehearsed beat twenty read aloud. Leave time for questions: that is where the decision is made.

### Prepare the hard questions

Scope, risk, team and money will come up. Write your answers down before the meeting, with proof where you have it.

## Questions about game pitch decks

### What is a game pitch deck?

A game pitch deck is a short slide presentation that sells a game to a publisher, an investor or a funding body: the hook, the pillars, the core loop, the audience and comparable games, the look, where the project stands, the scope and budget, the team and the ask.

### How many slides should a game pitch deck have?

Around ten to fifteen. This template has twelve, each with two to four lines. What you say goes in the speaker notes, so the slides stay readable from the back of the room or on a video call.

### What do publishers look for in a pitch?

A hook they can repeat, a clear audience, evidence that the game is fun (a build, a playtest, a community), a team that can ship it, a scope that fits the budget, and a precise ask. Each slide of this template answers one of these.

### Should I include a budget?

If you are asking for money, yes: the amount, what it pays for by milestone, and what the publisher gets in return. A pitch with no figure leaves the publisher to guess, and they rarely guess in your favor.

### Can I export the deck to PowerPoint or PDF?

In Nodary, yes: each heading of the imported deck becomes a slide, and the document’s menus print it to PDF as 16:9 slides or export an editable PowerPoint. Outside Nodary, the Markdown opens in any editor and in slide tools that read Markdown.

### Can I use the template for a commercial game?

Yes. Use it, change it and share it for any game, commercial or not, with or without a Nodary account. A mention is welcome, never required.
