# Keep feedback close to the idea.

23 September 2026 · By the Nodary team

Resize a shape directly, discuss the decision it represents and return to the right element from its thread. Board feedback now stays attached as your ideas move.

Which note does that question belong to? Board discussions now start from the element itself. Give a decision enough room, leave the question beside it and return to the same source when the team is ready to move forward.

## Give the idea the right shape

Select a note, shape or text element to reveal eight resize handles. Drag an edge or corner; hold Shift to preserve proportions or enable Lock proportions in the inspector. Keyboard users can focus a handle and use the arrow keys, with Shift for larger steps. Escape cancels an unfinished gesture and Undo reverses a completed resize. Attached connectors follow the new geometry.

## Discuss the exact element

Choose Discuss this element in a saved document. The document’s comment panel opens on that element, with replies, mentions and resolution. A numbered marker shows open threads on the canvas. Moving, resizing or renaming an element keeps its discussion attached. Duplicated shapes start without copying the original discussions.

## Return to the decision

Open a marker to find its threads. From a thread, choose its element link to select and frame the source. Resolve a discussion when the question is settled; reopen it if needed. If the shape or board block is removed, the thread remains in document comments with an element-removed notice. Viewers can discuss elements from the reading view without gaining edit access.

## A shared board that survives reconnection

We verified production collaboration with two signed-in accounts: simultaneous changes to different elements, an offline edit alongside online work, reconnection and saved-state reopening in both browsers. The resize gesture also keeps received text edits when it commits against the latest scene.

## Try it in your workflow

1. In the example, select the first note and drag a corner handle.
2. Choose Discuss this element, write a local demonstration comment and post it. Click its numbered marker to return to the discussion.
3. In your workspace, open a saved Visual board and use the same action. Wait for new elements to save before posting feedback.
4. Use the element link in a document thread to return to its shape, then resolve the thread when the decision is ready.

The public demonstration is local and resets on reload. Persistent discussions require a signed-in workspace with commenting access; public share pages do not expose private comments. Discussion counts reflect the document’s loaded comment window (up to 200 threads). Threads are not included in board SVG, JSON or Markdown exports. Resize handles apply to individual shapes and text, not freehand strokes or arrows. Concurrent edits to the same element still select a winning element version, rather than merging every property. Reconnection testing does not imply that closing an offline browser is safe.
