# Your work stays within reach.

24 September 2026 · By the Nodary team

See what is saved online, keep a local copy when the connection drops and compare recovered changes before applying them. Clearer saving, with more control when two versions meet.

A connection drops while you are writing. A teammate changes a paragraph before your save arrives. You reopen the browser and need to know which version you can trust. Nodary now makes those moments easier to inspect and resolve.

## Know where the changes are

Open Saving and recovery in the document editor. It separates a copy kept on this device from a save confirmed online, shows pending changes and explains connection or access failures. A local copy does not claim that your collaborators, exports or AI context already have the update.

## Return to an interrupted draft

Pending edits are kept in this browser when local storage is available. After reopening the document, inspect copies from earlier sessions, preview their content or download Markdown and a complete JSON copy. Recovery has been checked with two accounts and a complete browser restart for code, a spreadsheet formula and a board title, in both editing modes.

## Choose what should survive a conflict

Compare a recovered copy with the current document. Compatible changes to separate blocks are combined. When the same block differs, choose the version to keep and inspect the resulting document before applying it. The classic editor also checks ordinary saves against their starting content, so a delayed move can retain a teammate’s newer paragraph. If the document changes during the comparison, refresh it before applying.

## Keep actions attached to their blocks

Moves, selections and queued insertions retain block identities. An image upload can follow its original block after a move. If its gallery slot changed during the upload, Nodary explains the mismatch and provides a link to the uploaded file instead of assigning it to a different slot.

## Undo without replacing the whole document

In the classic editor, Undo after deleting blocks restores those blocks around the current document. A teammate’s newer paragraph or independently added block stays in place. Undo after restoring a version also checks the affected blocks: if someone has edited them, the reversal stops and explains why. An unconfirmed undo remains visible and can be retried. The button stays available while you focus or hover over its message. These protections apply to the Undo notifications for deletion and version restoration; module keyboard histories remain separate.

## Keep undo inside your spreadsheet or board

In a spreadsheet, Ctrl/⌘+Z reverses the local action while keeping received changes in other cells. Ctrl/⌘+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes it. On a board, the same shortcuts act on the board without also undoing the document. If the affected cells, elements or connections have changed, Nodary explains why the action cannot be reversed. A board group action is checked as a whole. These histories last while the module stays open; they compare changes already received and do not guarantee merging simultaneous edits that have not arrived yet.

## Try it in your workflow

1. In your own workspace, open a document you can edit and choose its saving status.
2. Check the separate device and online states. If a save fails, read the explanation and download your copy when needed.
3. For a pending or recovered copy, choose Compare and recover. Review differences, continue to the preview and apply your choice.
4. After applying, wait for Saved online. The public example below illustrates document reading; recovery controls are in the signed-in editor.

Local copies belong to this browser, account, workspace and document. They are not a cross-device backup, and clearing browser data removes them. Browser storage can be unavailable or full; check the displayed status and download a copy if it cannot be confirmed. Automatic local copies have a 16 MiB limit; an oversized pending copy remains downloadable while its tab is open. Recovery still requires current editing access. Comparisons of whole recovered documents resolve conflicts by block, not by merging every sentence or every board property. A focused classic paragraph defers remote display changes until blur. This release does not add offline document discovery or guarantee that every unfinished interaction is recoverable.
