# See your team on the map, as it happens.

10 October 2026 · By the Nodary team

Teammates’ pointers glide and leave when they do, an arrow points to anyone out of view, and each change arrives at once, with a ring in its author’s colour and a short note of who did what.

![The Saltmarrow map in Nodary’s demo with its fictional sample team: Idris Okafor’s pointer beside the Art bible, ringed in his colour, Sanna Lindqvist’s pointer on Harvest economy, an arrow at the edge toward Maëlle Rocher, a note saying Idris asked for a review of “Art bible”, and the list of who is live, with Tomás Ferreira in Columns and away from this tab.](https://nodary.ai/release-media/2026-10-team-on-the-map.webp)

Working on the same map used to feel a beat behind. Pointers stuttered, or froze where someone had left them; a teammate’s change appeared only after the whole map reloaded, without a word about who made it; and a dropped connection took seconds to come back. The map now shows your team as it moves.

## Pointers that glide, and go

A teammate’s pointer now follows their hand smoothly, about a tenth of a second behind, and disappears when they leave the map, switch tab or lift their finger; a pointer left still for eight seconds fades. Someone pointing outside your view becomes an arrow on the edge of the map, with their name: click it to go where they are. Each teammate keeps one colour, the same on everyone’s screen and kept apart from your projects’ colours.

## Every change, said once

When a teammate adds, renames, links, files or deletes a document, or asks for a review, the change shows on your map at once, with a ring in their colour around the star for a moment and a short note at the top, such as: Idris Okafor asked for a review of “Art bible”. A burst of changes is grouped, as in Idris Okafor changed 6 documents. A star they drag moves with their pointer, a group they drag moves as one, and your own changes are never announced to you. A link an agent makes over MCP now shows on open maps too.

## Where everyone really is

The list of who is live says where each person is: on the map, in a folder, in Columns, in a document, or away from this tab when theirs is in the background. A dropped connection comes back as soon as the network does, when the tab returns to the front, or when the server has not answered for eight seconds; meanwhile a teammate who misses a heartbeat reads as reconnecting rather than vanishing at once. In a document, teammates’ selections show in their colour and their caret stays exactly where they type.

## What we measured

In our test environment, with up to four teammates on one map: no pointer message lost, where 7.5 to 18% used to be; a teammate’s pointer redrawn 58 to 62 times a second, against 41 to 55; a star a teammate drags redrawn about 60 times a second instead of 15; and an editor reconnected 0.8 seconds after a 20-second network cut, showing what changed meanwhile after 1.2 seconds, against 6.6 and 7.0.

## Try it in your workflow

1. Open the same map as a teammate, each in your own browser.
2. Move your pointer: theirs follows smoothly, and disappears when they switch tab.
3. Ask them to rename a document or ask for a review: the ring and the note appear on your map.
4. Pan away from them, then click the arrow with their name to go back.

Pointers show on the map; in a document you see teammates’ carets and selections. A move is not announced, since the star glides in front of you, and an arrangement brings a note without rings. The live demo is a read-only snapshot, so no change reaches it: try this in a workspace with a teammate. The picture shows Saltmarrow’s fictional sample team in the demo.
