# Studio AI shows what it is told, and reads your PDFs.

23 October 2026 · By the Nodary team

See and edit what Studio AI is told on every request, attach PDFs and pictures to a question, find past conversations, and turn an answer into a document.

![The AI memory of Saltmarrow, a fictional sample project, in Nodary, scrolled down: below the end of the workspace’s instructions (106 of 4,000 characters, Save instructions), the box This project with the project’s own instructions, “Saltmarrow is a co-op game for up to four. Tide times come from The tide calendar: never invent one, quote it.”, 110 of 4,000 characters, then What Studio AI remembers with three notes, Crew, never hero, Tide vocabulary and Where each system is written, each edited by a different teammate under a minute ago, with Edit and Delete.](https://nodary.ai/release-media/2026-10-ai-memory.webp)

Studio AI was given a team’s project knowledge without anyone being able to read, in one place, what it was told. The AI draft tone in the Profile was saved and ignored, a PDF had to be pasted in as text, and past conversations were hard to find again. This release puts what Studio AI is told in plain view, lets a question carry its files, and gives conversations a history you can search, pin and clean up.

## Instructions you can read

AI memory, in a project’s … menu on Home or behind the Memory button of Studio AI, shows what Studio AI is told on every request there. Instructions for Studio AI are given in full with every request, the whole workspace’s first, then the project’s: tone, conventions, words to use or avoid, what to check, up to 4,000 characters each. The workspace’s owners and admins write the workspace’s; a project’s admins, and the workspace’s owners and admins, write the project’s. Everyone in the workspace can read them, and each change is recorded in the audit log, without its text. Nodary’s own rules always come first, and no instruction gives anyone more rights. The AI draft tone in your Profile, Precise, Balanced or Creative, now also shapes what Studio AI writes, edits or brainstorms for you; a question keeps its plain answer.

## Notes, with who wrote them

Under the instructions, What Studio AI remembers lists the project’s notes, saved by Studio AI in Archiver mode, by agents or by hand. Each one shows its one-line summary, which goes with every Studio AI request in the project, and who edited it last, and when. Read a note in full, edit it, add one, or delete it with Undo. What Studio AI is given beyond your question is there to read and to change.

## Attach a PDF or a picture

A question can now carry up to three files: PDFs of up to 20 pages and 10 MB, and pictures, PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, of up to 5 MB, 12 MB in all, and about 28 PDF pages in all for one question. Attach them with the button in either Studio AI panel, or drop them on the editor’s. Before you send, the tray says what the question may cost with its files, in Comets (☄), and a follow-up question still sees the latest question’s files. The files go to the AI model with your question; they are deleted within 30 days, backup copies within 30 more, and at once if the workspace is deleted. Save a Word file as a PDF first; a text file still goes in as its words.

## Conversations you can find again

Studio AI’s history now has two views: This document, or The map, and All of your conversations in the workspace, each with the document it was about. Search finds a conversation by its title or by its words. Pin keeps one at the top, Rename names it, and Delete takes it away with Undo; a deleted conversation is purged after 30 days.

## An answer becomes a document

New document, under an answer, makes it a document beside the one you are reading, or beside the star selected on the map, titled with the answer’s heading. It costs no Comets, and Undo takes it back. It is not offered under an answer that already changed documents.

## Front matter comes in with the import

Importing Markdown, an Obsidian vault included, now reads the front matter at the top of each file. Tags become the document’s tags; due, due_date or deadline its due date; a status of canon, exploration or obsolete its truth status; any other key fills the project’s property of the same name when the value fits. What is left goes into a block titled Imported properties at the top of the document, so nothing is dropped.

## Try it in your workflow

1. On Home, open a project’s … menu, choose AI memory, write the project’s instructions and save them.
2. Open Studio AI beside a document, attach a PDF, and ask what it says.
3. Under the answer, choose New document.
4. Open the history, choose All, and search for a word you remember.

Studio AI is counted in Comets (☄), never in money. Each Studio AI request now carries about 15% more context than before, for its new tools, counted in Comets; the team’s instructions and attached files add to it, and the estimate shown before you send counts all of it. A person attaches 30 files a day at most. People set the instructions: Studio AI cannot change them, and an agent over MCP can, with set_ai_instructions and the same rights as its person. A member who makes a document from an answer gets Open rather than Undo. No demo runs Studio AI: the link shows the Comets each plan includes.
