See your documents as a map

Drop a folder or a .zip of Markdown files, a game design document or an Obsidian vault, and read it as a map: every document a star, filed under its parent, joined to the documents it links to. The map also shows what a long document hides: links that lead nowhere, pages no other page links to, and the ones everything depends on.

Free, no account. Your files are read in your browser and never sent anywhere.

This map is the free GDD template. Drop your own folder or .zip anywhere on it to map yours.

How it reads your files

Documents and their parents

Each Markdown file is a document, titled by its front matter, then its first heading, then its file name. A file next to a folder of the same name (Combat.md beside Combat/) is the parent of what that folder holds: the same rule Nodary’s import follows.

Links, written either way

Relative Markdown links such as [Combat](Systems/Combat.md) and wiki links such as [[Combat]], by title or by file name, both count. Links inside code blocks do not, and neither do links to pictures or web pages.

In your browser only

The files are read on your device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is kept: close the page and the map is gone.

Keep the map, and keep it current

Import the same folder or .zip into Nodary and the documents arrive filed as they are here, with their relative links turned into links between documents; wiki links arrive as text. Then your team edits on the map, sees what changed since their last visit, and AI agents read it over MCP.

Questions

Can I map an Obsidian vault?

Yes. Choose the vault’s folder or a .zip of it. Wiki links resolve by note title or file name, as in Obsidian; the .obsidian settings folder and pictures are left out.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The page reads them in your browser and draws the map there. Nothing is sent to Nodary or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

What counts as a broken link?

A relative link to a Markdown file that is not in what you chose, or a wiki link whose title matches no document. Links to web pages and pictures are not checked.

How large a folder can it read?

Up to 200 documents and 20 MB of text at once, the same limits as a folder import into Nodary.
