A world your whole team can build without breaking canon.
Every place, faction, character and event is a document on one map, linked to the others with the reason why. A chronology lays the events on a timeline by in-world year, every entry says whether it is canon, and when two entries disagree, Nodary shows both passages side by side.

The problem, in your team’s words
A shared world grows faster than anyone can hold in their head. The founding of the capital is 400 years ago in one draft and 300 in another, a faction changed its name two writers back, and the newest teammate reads the page that was replaced last spring. Lore stays consistent only when someone can see the whole of it, and knows which pages are true.
- Is that canon or just an idea someone had?
- Two pages give the war a different date.
- Who renamed the capital, and when?
A week with Nodary
How a week can go once the work lives in Nodary. Each day uses something the product does today.

Write each subject as its own entry
Start places, factions and peoples from the Lore Entry template (what people believe and what is true, a timeline of key events, related subjects) and characters from Character Bio. Each entry becomes a star on the world’s map, filed in folders you open like clusters, so the shape of the world is visible at a glance.

- Tuesday
Link entries with a reason
Link entries with [[Title]] as you write, or draw a link that says why: related, inspired by, blocks or depends on. Every entry lists what links to it, so the page of the old harbour shows each story, character and event set there.
Linked notes and backlinks - Wednesday
Lay out the chronology
Give entries a number property for the in-world year and insert a live timeline: events become points or bars in lanes by era or faction, and dragging one saves its new year. Entries without a year are listed under the axis, never hidden, so a missing date is visible.

Mark canon, catch contradictions
Mark an entry canon, exploration, obsolete or superseded by another, and readers and agents see that status before they rely on it. When two entries disagree, both passages appear word for word, side by side, and a resolution is proposed only when you ask, changing nothing without you.
One source of truth for your lore - Friday
Give the world its look and its voices
Collect references in a moodboard with their source and credit, pull a palette from them with roles and contrast checks, and write branching dialogue that plays through and exports to Yarn Spinner. Studio AI can check a new entry against the project’s canon before anyone marks it canon too.

A template to start from
Lore Entry
Lore Entry is one of Nodary’s 30 built-in templates, in 12 languages. It separates what the world believes from what is true, which is where most contradictions start, and it opens with a canon callout that says who may change the entry.
- What people believe and what is actually true, side by side
- A timeline of key events, drawn as a diagram
- A canon callout that names who may change the entry
Three requests for your AI agent
An agent connected over MCP reads the whole world, not one pasted page: it walks the tree of entries, reads them, and records a contradiction with both passages when two disagree. Drafts it writes can be marked exploration until someone decides.

What Nodary does not do
- No dedicated map maker: put your map picture on a board and place document cards and notes over it, without layers or scale.
- Dialogue conditions and variables are not modelled: a branching dialogue plays its jumps, not your game’s state.
- Nodary does not scan the whole world for contradictions on its own: a check runs when a person or an agent asks for it.
- No public wiki site: a read-only share link is the way to show the world outside the team.
- No offline mode and no desktop app.

Questions
What is worldbuilding software?
A tool for keeping a fictional world’s places, peoples, characters, history and rules consistent as it grows. In Nodary each of those is a linked document, the chronology is a live timeline, and every entry can say whether it is canon.
Is Nodary for solo writers or for teams?
Both, but it is built for teams: real-time co-writing with each cursor visible, comments on a passage, reviews and roles. A solo writer can start on the Free plan, within its limits.
Can we use it for a tabletop campaign or a novel series?
Yes. Nothing in the lore tools is game-only: entries, links, timelines, canon and contradictions work the same for a campaign setting, a series of novels or a film universe.
Can an AI write lore for us?
Studio AI or a connected agent can draft entries from the template and link them, marked exploration until someone decides. Every agent write keeps the version before it, and agents are told which entries are canon before they read them.
Can we share the world with players or readers?
Share a read-only link to an entry, an entry with everything under it, or the whole workspace, for the days you choose or with no end, and revoke it at any time. Readers need no account.
